A Minimum of 98 Palestinian Individuals Have Died in Custody Starting From October 2023, Statistics from Israel Reveals
Based on information provided by Israel, a minimum of 98 Palestinian individuals have lost their lives during detention since October 2023. A human rights group operating from Israel has indicated that the real toll is almost certainly considerably larger, due to many of missing detainees originating in Gaza.

Prominent Examples
Some deaths in custody have been high profile, for instance a middle-aged hospital director who perished in detention after a third of a year in custody.
An inmate held with the victim stated that he was taken to the exercise area by prison staff just prior to his demise, clearly wounded and unclothed from the waist down. His remains has not been repatriated to Gaza.
Further inmates who perished in confinement by Israeli authorities remain anonymous. The prison service and military supplied investigators with the total of casualties in detention, and limited additional information including the site where they lost their lives, but excluding the detainees’ identities.
Documentation Problems
For 21 instances, mostly individuals from Gaza, researchers were not able to correlate the limited information supplied by officials to a death registered by rights organisations, via testimony from former inmates or coverage in the press.
