Correspondence Uncover the late financier and former Trump strategist Relationship

Steve Bannon
Bannon served as the former president's key advisers prior to stepping down from the administration in August 2017

In November 2018, Steve Bannon, previously a top aide to Donald Trump, visited the UK preparing for a address at the Oxford Union.

The event was interrupted by numerous demonstrators, and Bannon, who was due to board a flight that night, informed Jeffrey Epstein in an message: "Protesters delayed speech I doubt I can catch the flight we are heading to heathrow".

Epstein responded: "There. Is a gulf air departing at 9:50 with a stop in Bahrain". Bannon answered: "You are an excellent assistant".

These exchanges were released on Wednesday together with more than 20,000 pages from the estate of Epstein, the deceased convicted sex offender.

The disclosure by the House oversight committee contains an text conversation where Bannon's name is redacted. Media outlets has been able to establish his identity by cross-referencing the dates, events, and locations mentioned.

For instance, Epstein talks about chartering a plane from Scotland for the unnamed individual in the messages, and offers praise their "address at Oxford". Bannon participated in the News Xchange conference on November 14, and delivered the speech at the Oxford on November 16.

Bannon, who faces no allegations of any wrongdoing, declined to comment on the request for comment.

'I'll make sure you're well looked after'

Bannon was one of Trump's closest aides in the lead-up to the 2016 election and in the early days of his first administration, but resigned from the administration in August 2017.

He has admitted he was producing a documentary about Epstein before his death and reportedly has approximately 15 hours of footage. In a recording of his show recently, he stated: "We're going to publish the film, the five-part series, in the coming year - early next year."

But the recently disclosed documents indicate Bannon's relationship with Epstein went further than being his biographer, with the disgraced financier occasionally appearing to serve like a personal assistant.

A short time before the conversation in which Epstein appeared to have arranged a charter jet for Bannon, Epstein remarked: "how does it feel to have the highest-paid travel agent in the world ".

Bannon expressed gratitude: "U r quite capable asst", to which Epstein responded "Therapies. Excluded".

Discussing a visit to "Abu Dhabi" in another message, Epstein assured Bannon: "I'll make sure you're well looked after."

British Affairs Discussed in Exchanges

The released communications also reveal Bannon and Epstein talking about British political matters in 2018.

On the day of his address at the Oxford, Bannon messaged Epstein: "I've gotten pulled into the Brexit thing this day with Nigel, Boris and Rees Mogg."

Then, in what appears to be a reference to the UK prime minister, the embattled British leader at the period, he continued: "They are attempting to proceed. May today / tomorrow…"

Epstein suggested Bannon: "I think remaining as much as you can in the UK. Best-- so others see the commitment of your follow through."

Shortly after, Epstein inquired: "Will Theresa may remain in power". Bannon replied: "It seems unlikely however the people here have little courage" and added "Boris ; Gove; Rees Mogg; David Davis - somebody has to take charge".

Theresa May was eventually toppled in 2019 after surviving two votes of lack of support in late 2018.

A spokesman for the political party informed media: "Farage has not been in a meeting with Steve Bannon, Jacob Rees Mogg and Boris Johnson." And there is no evidence such a meeting occurred.

The US House of Representatives will decide next week on whether the justice department should make public all its records concerning its probe into Epstein, who died in prison in 2019.

Interest in Epstein's relationships with influential individuals was reignited recently after the release of over 20,000 pages from his estate.

Some of those referenced the former president, who has consistently denied any wrongdoing. The president was a friend of Epstein's for a long time, but says they parted ways in the early 2000s, two years before Epstein was first arrested.
