Ex- Physician Faces Sexual Assault Charges Involving 38 Individuals in His Care
Prosecutors have stated that a ex- doctor now faces charges for carrying out assaults against thirty-eight individuals who were patients.
The Serious Charges
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with dozens of sexual offences – comprising some against children younger than 13 – spanning the period from 2017 and 2021.
One senior CPS official commented, “Legal teams have diligently worked to assist a thorough and intricate police inquiry, carefully reviewing the available evidence to establish that there is sufficient evidence to bring the case to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
The Police Inquiry
The charges follow what investigators described as a “complex investigation” into alleged sexual offences at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and Russells Hall hospital.
Spencer is due to appear at the local magistrates' court on 20 January.

The charging documents outline the forty-five charges he is charged with:
- 15 counts of assault.
- Seventeen counts of penetrative assault.
- 9 counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
- 3 counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
- One count of attempted penetrative assault.
