NFL 2025 season: Week six

Live coverage includes text commentary of Sunday's games on various channels, starting with the Broncos-Jets clash at Tottenham (kicking off at 2 PM BST). Also, audio coverage can be heard on select stations for a separate game (from 21:00 BST).

We're in the sixth week in the NFL season , following last week's discussion regarding the Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles being a potential Super Bowl match-up, they both lost their unbeaten records.

Notable in those games were the number of penalties both conceded. Philadelphia committed them at crucial times meaning they essentially defeated themselves after leading by two touchdowns entering the fourth period versus the Denver Broncos, who play in London this Sunday.

But it proved positive to see how Denver quarterback the rookie was able to have that deficit and then lead three successful possessions in three attempts during the final period, to win the victory by four points.

Denver have the defensive player of the year in CB their star corner. They are number one in red zone defence, while the Eagles lead the league in red zone offence, and the Broncos won that contest.

They had the Eagles' number regarding disguised blitzes. They weren't necessarily sending extra defenders but they could plug two linebackers in the interior before drop them out and send a nickel from the outside.

Early on in the campaign, it was noted on a program how the Broncos might emerge as this season's dark horses. They finished the previous year strongly and excelled of building upon that.

Could Denver be this season's underdog story?

New tight end Evan Engram has stepped up big and recent RB their rusher is a player the team trusts. He now ranks fifth in the NFL in ground gains (over 400) and tied-fourth for rushing touchdowns (four).

It's impressive how head coach Sean Payton displays "RUN IT!" prominently of his playcall sheet.

This demonstrates that Denver are a team that wants to prioritize the run, because one can achieve much off the back of that. It slows opposing rushes while keeps you in favourable situations.

This has helped QB Bo Nix, who entered the NFL as the 12th overall draft pick last year, passing for 29 TDs – second only to a star QB for the rookie record (31 back in 2020).

Other elite QBs have powerful arms to throw all over, however they lack the mobility as Nix. He has exceptional passing ability, a unique trait, and he is highly agile.

His strengths include his movement, being able to throw on the run, and using different arm angles to deliver throws as he moves out of the pocket, on rollouts. He can deliver precision throws over the middle and past defenders.

As a rookie QB, aged 25, he's got a lot of composure in the pocket and is not really fazed by extra rushers. He tries to avoid a sack whenever possible and can throw under pressure. He possesses a high football IQ and remains very decisive.

If you constantly rush it consumes the clock and forces the opponent to stay on the field extended periods, and if you've got an athletic quarterback the defense has to defend the field downfield and horizontally. This proves draining.

Nix has pushed back with the coach on the sideline sometimes and it seems the coach likes that fire, that he's such a competitor. I think it's fun for the coach to coach a rookie QB that is similar to moldable clay. The coach can truly develop him the way he desires to shape him. I think it's a special experience for the coach.

Payton owns a championship and now passed a legend in all-time victories (173 - tied 14th overall). He's seen everything. In my opinion the success the Broncos are having offensively is mostly due to his guidance, his play-calling, his situational awareness – and the pairing with the QB aids make him into who he is.

There's no better a better guy guiding you, to assist you during some of the tougher situations and boost self-belief.

I believe in Denver's defence, in the QB's grit and calm. Yet is the team good enough to go against a top squad at full strength? Because that wasn't a Super Bowl performance by the Eagles last Sunday.

Right now, I don't think the Broncos are elite. They're performing better than most, that's a solid position to be in the AFC West. The key to do to continue this path.

They're really good at leaning into their forte, which is the ground game, and this is exactly what they should do against the Jets in London. It's going to be a Dobbins-focused game, essentially.

New York have allowed 140 rushing yards each contest (among the worst), five rushing touchdowns so far (in the bottom ten), and they're the only team without a win any game.

Since the league started recording turnovers decades ago, the Jets are the inaugural squad to go without any turnovers in five outings, which is kind of shocking considering that the head coach Aaron Glenn defensive co-ordinator at the Detroit Lions.

The Chiefs' QB says the Chiefs are off to a poor start after a recent loss to Jacksonville.

Following the upcoming matchup, the Broncos face a manageable slate up to their break (in week twelve) - the New York Giants, the Cowboys, the Texans and Las Vegas Raiders prior to the Chiefs.

Looking at the AFC West, the Chiefs are 2-3 and the Broncos are even with the Los Angeles Chargers on 3-2 meaning they could make a run at leading the division.

It depends on which form of the Chiefs they meet since the Broncos {beat|def
